About the Role

Performs diagnostic ultrasounds on patients as ordered by a licensed provider, in an ethical and professional manner. Assists in all aspects of Radiology Ultrasound.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasounds on patients as ordered by a licensed provider.
  • Assists in all aspects of Radiology Ultrasound.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
  • Must be registered by RDMS (Ab, OB or RVT) or pass the RDMS Registry within one year of meeting the eligibility requirements.
  • Proficient knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and family in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Requires positive and effective communication skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
  • Requires the ability to think and act quickly to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
  • Must maintain a working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment.
  • AHA-BLS certification is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
  • The individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
