About the Role

Export Development Canada (EDC) helps Canadian businesses succeed abroad by providing financial tools and expertise to explore new markets and mitigate risks, aiming to build a better Canada and world through trade.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate leads from various sources, initiate contact, and follow up.
  • Develop management strategies with Sales Operations, Marketing, and Mid-Market Business Development to generate leads from prospective clients.
  • Lead generation may involve establishing, maintaining, and developing leads before they are qualified, requiring research into a company's operations, business objectives, market access strategies, and international trade opportunities.
  • Support the national strategy of the Mid-Market Strategy and Execution Team.
  • Record all prospective client information in the Customer Relationship Management system to inform communications and reporting.
  • Ensure consistent, concise, and accurate internal and external communications.
  • Collaborate with others in a team environment and work independently.
  • Achieve qualified lead generation targets.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent business development experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices in sales or client account management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.
