About the Role

Real Chemistry is seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our Medical Affairs team. This role serves as the primary day-to-day client contact, managing relationships, setting expectations, and ensuring effective delivery of services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact, providing status updates and responding to queries.
  • Manage client expectations regarding timelines and project scope.
  • Take client briefs and communicate them clearly to team members, implementing realistic project plans.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the account, including internal team meetings and workflow.
  • Oversee delegation of tasks and ensure completion of all team actions via status reports.
  • Maintain awareness of job statuses across the entire account.
  • Take ownership of and ensure delivery of medium/large client projects to the highest standards within budget and agreed timeframes.
  • Communicate project progress to account leads, alerting them to barriers and proposing solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of client business priorities and program strategy, including competitor activity.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in medical communications and the pharma industry.
  • Identify growth opportunities and proactively share new ideas with the team and client.
  • Stay informed about market changes.
  • Identify new business opportunities, flag relevant experience, and contribute ideas for credentials and pitch presentations.
  • Maintain a general understanding of account finances and support financial management.
  • Support new business research, ideation, and participate in pitch presentations.
  • Engage in continued professional development, identifying training opportunities with a manager.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4-5+ years of prior experience in healthcare agency client services roles with medical affairs, publications, and/or medical information experience required.
  • Highly organized with a mindfulness of deadlines, the ability to manage multiple tasks based on priorities and a strong attention to detail.
  • Independent thinker confident in taking ownership of assets and material development, but a team player who enjoys collaboration.
  • Professional presence, performs with a sense of urgency and with a client service orientation.
  • Confidence to manage upward when required; able to communicate with managers when deadlines will not be met or when issues are foreseeable.
  • High energy, able to effectively operate in fast-paced, growing and evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, with a track record of following through on client requests and with high-quality deliverables on schedule and on budget.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experienced in developing client relationships and networking.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Comprehension of project and account objectives, contributing to strategic planning.
  • Able to devise and articulate solutions to problems on an ongoing basis.
  • Able to clearly communicate project updates, scopes and recommendations to clients.
  • BA or equivalent work experience required.
