About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to assist in receiving incoming materials, verifying shipments, maintaining inventory records, preparing outbound orders, and coordinating freight shipments in support of foundry operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming materials and verify against purchase orders.
- Verify quantities against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents.
- Prepare finished castings and related products for shipment.
- Generate shipping labels, packing lists, and other required documentation.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with freight carriers.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts.
- Organize warehouse and storage areas to ensure efficient material flow.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure shipment priorities and timely deliveries.
- Maintain shipping and receiving logs and records.
- Assist with general warehouse and material handling duties as needed.
- Maintain inventory levels and restock supplies and materials for various departments as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
- Manufacturing or foundry experience a plus.
- Experience driving a forklift a plus or the ability to obtain a forklift certification.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Epicor or ERP/Inventory management system.
- Experience using carrier shipping systems such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, or similar freight/shipping platforms preferred.
- Ability to read shipping documents and packing slips.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
