About the Role

The Junior Copywriter is an integral part of the editorial team, responsible for writing compelling, brand-appropriate copy across various platforms. This role supports business needs and reinforces the brand vision through promotional content and customer communications, ensuring copy alignment and a luxury brand voice.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Michael Kors voice across MichaelKors.com, Michael Kors Outlet, marketing emails, CRM, and promotions.
  • Write and edit romance copy for landing pages, site banners, and content in shopping grids.
  • Assist with Michael Kors Outlet copy strategy and execution for email, site, and retail initiatives.
  • Streamline strategy and write copy for sales and promotional events across site, email, digital, and retail assets.
  • Write engaging subject lines, headlines, and sub-copy for marketing emails.
  • Engage KORSVIP loyalty program members with targeted communications.
  • Work with Project Management and Art team to ensure deadlines are met and edits are executed for final approval.
  • Work with global marketing teams to create evites, signage, and other collateral for retail events and ad-hoc projects.
  • Collaborate with PR and Art Departments to concept and write copy for special projects.
  • Contribute to Michael’s World blog as needed.
  • Own process of assigned projects from briefing to QA testing.
  • Work closely with the Copywriter and Editorial Director to execute editorial content and creative solutions.
  • Work closely with the Ecomm and Site teams on messaging and copy execution across platforms for each season.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the Art and Fashion departments, as well as the Project Management team.
  • Stay abreast of other brand’s copywriting trends and cultural happenings to write relevant, engaging copy.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of fashion copywriting or editorial writing experience.
  • Ability to adapt to and write using different brand tones for varying product tiers simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of and passion for fashion trends.
  • Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple projects and readjust priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify solutions and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and be agile to changing business needs.
  • Ability to work on Mac and use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Wrike, etc.
  • Excellent proofreading skills, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude, energized by challenges and excited to partner with colleagues across the creative team.
