About the Role

The Biomechanist I position involves collecting and analyzing various biomechanical data on patients to inform clinical treatment planning. This role also includes participation in research protocols and the potential for co-authoring publications.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze 3D and 2D motion capture, ground reaction force, electromyographic, and plantar pressure data on patients.
• Communicate with physicians, scientists, physical therapists, biomechanists, and administrative staff.
• Receive procedure training for all biomechanical analyses.
• Manage a full caseload of lower and upper extremity movement analysis patients.
• Collect and analyze data in research protocols such as total knee replacement, knee osteoarthritis, foot and ankle, shoulder, and hand/wrist studies.
• Co-author conference abstracts and peer-reviewed publications.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree (BS or BA) in engineering, rehabilitation, biology, physical therapy, kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, or a related discipline.
• Interest and basic experience in the motion analysis process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Substantial experience and expertise in human movement analysis is preferred, but strong new graduates will be considered.
• Prior clinical experience is a plus.
• This is a temporary position for one year, renewable based upon performance and programmatic need.
