About the Role
Work on technically demanding systems with real societal relevance, combining desk work with international travel. This role is with an established technology company in IT security and homeland security, focusing on complex solutions used at European border control points.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical point of contact for customers regarding questions, malfunctions, and problems with deployed border control solutions.
- Support customers and partners in the installation and configuration of specialized IT security products.
- Assist project teams on-site during installation, commissioning, and rollout phases, for example at airports.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, coordinating external partners and suppliers as needed.
- Analyze, qualify, and process incoming 2nd and 3rd level support cases, escalating to relevant departments when further expertise is required.
- Contribute technical insights and recurring problem patterns to collaboration with software development and product management.
- Install, administer, and maintain reference systems, ensuring complete technical documentation.
- Document support cases systematically to contribute to the expansion and maintenance of a knowledge base.
Requirements
- Completed technical training, ideally as a System Integration IT Specialist, or a comparable qualification.
- Professional experience in 2nd or 3rd level support, system administration, or technical field service.
- Experience with complex IT systems and demanding IT infrastructures.
- Good practical knowledge of Windows and Linux environments, including relevant tools and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge in IT security.
- Professional, confident demeanor with a strong understanding of service and customer orientation.
- Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness for regular business travel, including within Europe.
- Willingness to participate in a regulated and compensated on-call duty.
