About the Role
WELL Health Diagnostic Centres is seeking an Accounting Intern to join their healthcare team. This role involves supporting the day-to-day processing of accounts receivable and assisting with various financial and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day processing of accounts receivable to ensure efficient and accurate customer collections.
- Produce invoices from the billing system and submit claims to third-party billing parties.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding account collections.
- Liaise with customers to address billing queries and investigate disputes.
- Review customer agreements and ensure appropriate system and procedure setup.
- Reconcile third-party billing claims and complete entries into the accounting system.
- Prepare monthly billing and collections reports for the management team.
- Create and update training documentation for consistent and accurate AR processes.
- Provide guidance to clinics on billing processes and rates.
- Assist with month-end close procedures.
- Process procurement orders, contact suppliers for deliveries, and resolve issues.
- Follow up on clinic procurement requests and inquiries.
- Source price quotations from suppliers and prepare purchase orders.
- Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
- Provide assistance and support for other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Accounts Receivable experience is an asset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with medical imaging billing is an asset.
- Experience with Quickbooks is an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
