About the Role

As Chief Product Officer, you will have overall responsibility for Product Management, Tech/Software Engineering, and Business Intelligence, reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the Core Leadership Team. This role is intentionally technical, seeking a CPO who combines product leadership with a deep understanding of tech architecture and software engineering, and can leverage AI for tangible benefits to patients, the product, or the development organization.

Responsibilities

Develop the product and tech organization strategically, establishing clear responsibilities, reliable decision-making processes, and a work methodology that balances high quality with speed.
Drive the strategic evolution of the existing and future portfolio.
Make product decisions that are inseparable from technology decisions.
Discuss architectural decisions with experienced engineering leaders, assess technical risks, and make sound judgments.
Integrate AI into the product for personalization, adherence, and medical outcomes.
Improve the software development lifecycle measurably using AI within the development organization.
Ensure the development of robust productive applications with discernible value within the regulatory framework of a medical product.

Requirements

Proven track record of leading and transforming product and technology organizations at a high level.
Several years of leadership experience in complex product and tech organizations.
Experience in restructuring organizations, developing leadership teams, or guiding an organization through phases requiring higher delivery and outcome accountability.
Strong technical foundation, with familiarity in areas such as software architecture, technical debt, modernization, migration, software delivery, and engineering productivity.
Ability to serve as a credible technical sparring partner for experienced senior engineers and engineering leaders.
Practical experience and sound judgment in AI, including identifying and evaluating AI potentials and ideally implementing AI-driven applications or processes.
Ability to distinguish meaningful use cases from short-term hype.
Experience in healthcare, digital health, MedTech, or a comparable regulated software environment is highly desirable.
Direct experience with DiGA (Digital Health Applications) is a strong plus.
Knowledge of the German healthcare system.
Business-fluent in German and English.
Demonstrated ability to take responsibility, make difficult decisions, and achieve measurable results.
