About the Role

Deliver and pick up parts and equipment for the dealership. This role is crucial for ensuring timely delivery and pick-up of parts and equipment, contributing to the dealership's operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
  • Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk.
  • Verify that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
  • Verify parts on customer invoice match delivery.
  • Check payments received against invoices for each delivery.
  • Maintain an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, obtaining recipient signatures.
  • Unload the truck daily, submitting all paperwork and undelivered parts.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance, including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and ensuring inspections are completed.
  • Report necessary major repairs and maintenance for delivery trucks to the parts manager.
  • Contribute to maintaining the professional appearance of the parts department.
  • Inquire about customer returns, including core inventory, at each stop.
  • Pull parts for delivery routes and load trucks/vans.
  • Assist with shipping/receiving duties as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Drive across county and state lines.
  • Adhere to and promote all health and safety policies to foster a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Must meet company insurability standards.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
