About the Role
The Security Manager will provide strategic oversight of the global aviation security landscape, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and proactively mitigating security risks across the network. This role acts as a key interface between regulatory developments and operational delivery, translating complex requirements into actionable frameworks and leading a team to ensure consistent security compliance and performance insight.
Responsibilities
- Maintain oversight of the global aviation security regulatory landscape, identifying emerging requirements, risks, and opportunities.
- Engage with regulators, industry bodies, and operating companies to influence future regulatory developments.
- Translate regulatory change into clear, actionable guidance for operational teams.
- Provide insight to senior stakeholders on regulatory risk exposure and strategic implications.
- Lead the delivery of security compliance across the global network, ensuring alignment to applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Oversee the implementation of security controls and standards, ensuring consistency across hubs, regions, and third-party providers.
- Support regional teams in managing security performance issues, risks, and escalations.
- Act as a central point of coordination for security-related assurance activity and follow-up actions.
- Develop and maintain security risk insights, using data, trends, and intelligence to identify systemic and emerging threats.
- Produce network-wide security performance reporting, enabling transparency and prioritised action.
- Support the escalation and resolution of significant security risks and incidents, ensuring appropriate governance and visibility.
- Drive a more proactive, intelligence-led approach to security risk management.
- Support the development and maintenance of global security standards, ensuring they remain compliant, relevant, and operationally effective.
- Act as a key point of contact for security policy and standards interpretation across the business.
- Ensure alignment between regulatory requirements, internal standards, and operational delivery.
- Lead, develop, and support a team of two security specialists, ensuring delivery of key compliance and assurance activities.
- Set clear priorities aligned to risk and regulatory requirements, ensuring effective use of resource.
Requirements
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex regulatory information and translate it into practical application.
- Effective stakeholder management and ability to influence across a matrix organisation.
- Ability to balance strategic awareness with delivery of operational outcomes.
- Confident communicator, able to engage at both operational and senior levels.
- Experience working within a regulated aviation security or compliance environment.
- Good understanding of global regulatory frameworks and operational processes.
- Experience of performance reporting, risk identification, or compliance oversight.
- Experience leading or coordinating small teams or cross-functional activity (desirable).
