About the Role
Works with other team members to solve difficult technical and engineering-related problems, supporting continuous improvement, new product introductions, and cost reduction initiatives. Drives fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives, while evaluating new technologies for superior product quality and cost. Adheres to intellectual property management processes.
Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day problem-solving support to production, development, and research operations.
- Trains operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes.
- Builds detailed technical understanding for key process steps using rigorous processes and technical knowledge.
- Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects.
- Troubleshoots material, process, and equipment issues, identifies root causes, and implements corrective actions.
- Implements and documents material, process, and/or equipment changes.
- Uses statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) for process problem-solving and improvement.
- Assures quality and repeatability of processes and products.
- Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training.
- Assures operator and equipment safety and complies with safety and environmental regulations.
- Develops Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
- Executes cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- Yellow Belt Training.
- Track record of delivering results.
- Demonstrated knowledge in a technical field.
- Project team membership.
Education Level
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience or equivalent experience (exceptional case)
- Yellow Belt Training
- Green Belt Certification
