About the Role

Dovetail is seeking a Senior Product Designer to craft experiences, interactions, and solutions that improve the product and drive user adoption. This role emphasizes visual design, prototyping, usability testing, and evolving the design system, requiring a keen eye for detail to maintain a high bar for quality.

Responsibilities

Champion customer feedback in every decision by understanding customer needs, perspectives, and goals through regular customer interaction, research, testing, and feedback analysis.
Design simple, intuitive, and delightful product experiences by balancing customer needs with business goals and technical constraints.
Drive design through collaboration with product, engineering, GTM, leadership, and other designers.
Prototype and pair closely with engineers to ensure shipped products meet a high quality bar.
Contribute to the design system by creating and evolving shared patterns and components.
Help shape the design team culture by scaling design rituals and the design system, maintaining quality, and improving team collaboration.

Requirements

Strong product design experience, particularly with modern B2B cloud software in startups or fast-moving teams.
Breadth across the design process, from discovery to detailed design, including rapid prototyping and stakeholder communication.
Curiosity and willingness to experiment with AI tools and fast prototyping approaches.
High attention to detail and a commitment to improving the customer experience.
Clear communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to share direction, frame challenges, and build alignment.
Highly collaborative working style, comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams.
Pragmatic mindset, comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and shifting deadlines.
A great attitude, comfortable with the pace, urgency, risk, and uncertainty of an early-stage startup.
Expectation to embed AI into day-to-day work, using it thoughtfully and pragmatically to improve quality, speed, and impact.
