About the Role
Caremed Primary and Urgent Care PC is seeking a motivated and compassionate Full-Time Medical Assistant to join their fast-paced primary care team in Coram, NY. This role offers an opportunity for career growth in a supportive environment focused on patient care.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
- Assist physicians and providers with examinations and clinical procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy, spirometry, EKG, ABI, etc.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper supply stocking.
- Manage patient flow in a high-volume primary care setting.
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, and coordinate patient follow-up care.
- Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Prior experience in a primary care or urgent care clinical setting preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and basic medical office procedures.
- Strong phlebotomy and clinical skills including vital signs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
