About the Role

This role exists to make every builder at Mitti more effective by owning the foundational infrastructure and internal tooling, including the Internal Developer Platform. The goal is to enable engineering teams to ship faster with less friction by bringing in new technology and approaches that materially change how the platform works.

Responsibilities

Identify and lead the adoption of new technology or architectural approaches that meaningfully improve the platform, owning multi-month initiatives end to end.
Design and build resilient, easy-to-use foundational infrastructure that scales with a growing customer base.
Evolve the Internal Developer Platform to be the primary way engineering teams interact with infrastructure.
Take on scope and problems from engineering teams, translating needs into delivered outcomes.
Contribute to solution design early to prevent operational problems.
Facilitate discussions to reach technical outcomes across teams.
Provide technical leadership, setting standards and coaching engineers on platform and delivery practices.
Use quality and AI-assisted tools to produce effective code.

Requirements

Strong proficiency in Go for platform and infrastructure work.
Deep, hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
AWS as the predominant cloud platform.
Working proficiency in Python and Terraform.
Strong familiarity with GitOps and CI/CD practices.
Linux and networking experience, including troubleshooting.
Track record of working across codebases and domains not originally built, diagnosing issues, contributing improvements, and establishing patterns.
Experience with architecture and system design in SaaS environments operating at scale.
Demonstrated instinct for build vs. buy decisions.
Ability to bring in new ideas rather than just improving existing ones.
Ability to lead through influence, build consensus, and help teams make good decisions without creating bottlenecks.
Ability to simplify complexity.
Ability to multiply the impact of people around through coaching, pairing, code review, and tools/documentation.
Ability to think about who the work helps (customers, teams, business).
Genuine curiosity about problems and asking follow-up questions.
Ability to push self and others to do better and operate comfortably with people across the business.
Use AI tools to move faster through implementation and problem-solving while still being able to write and reason about production code.
Apply build vs. buy thinking to AI solutions.
Owned and delivered a significant multi-month initiative.
Ensured the Internal Developer Platform is genuinely adopted.
Introduced reliability and delivery patterns that are adopted as defaults.
