About the Role

The New York office of Clifford Chance has an opening for an Asset Finance associate attorney in the firm’s Debt Finance Group. We advise lessors, financiers, banks, funds, manufacturers, operators and investors on asset finance across aviation, shipping, rail and other movable, high-value assets.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school, or a foreign law degree with a U.S. LL.M. from an accredited law school.
  • High academic achievement.
  • Meaningful experience advising lenders, lessors, investors, underwriters, or sponsors on cross-border asset finance transactions.
  • Substantial experience in aviation and other transportation finance, including aircraft and high‑value equipment financings.
  • Experience with a broad range of transaction types, including operating and finance leases, secured lending, leveraged leasing, portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, restructurings, and asset-backed or structured finance transactions (including EETCs).
  • Familiarity with export credit agency (ECA)-supported financings, ABS, and other innovative or complex financing structures.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and project-management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strong client-service orientation, and ability to work effectively in team-based, cross-border matters.
  • Prior experience at a peer Am Law or international law firm.
  • Admission to the New York bar is required.
  • Submissions must include a resume and law school transcript(s).
