About the Role
Applications engineers for Battery Gauges provide expertise to support the sales team and customers in designing TI Battery Gauges into their products. They partner with Systems and Marketing teams to deliver collateral, supporting documentation, tools, and/or software that accelerate customer development time and drive design wins. They provide pre- and post-sales support through direct contact, JIRA, E2E forums, and by partnering with Sales teams. They must understand deep details of the Battery Gauges algorithm, including studying a large C code base and analyzing large data sets. A major responsibility is optimizing the configuration of Battery Gauges for a specific system. They may also assist customer quality engineers when evaluating customer returns by recreating issues on the bench, setting up the device in the FA lab for probe and debug, or developing a test improvement plan.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise to best support our sales team and customers in designing TI Battery Gauges into their products.
- Partner with Systems and Marketing teams to deliver collateral, supporting documentation, tools and/or software that accelerate customers' development time and drive design WINs.
- Provide pre- and post-sales support to our customers through direct contact (WebEx calls, email, occasional on-site support), JIRA, E2E forums and by partnering with Sales teams.
- Understand deep details of the Battery Gauges algorithm, which requires being comfortable studying a large code base written in C and analyzing large data sets from customer tests and TI tests.
- Optimize the configuration of Battery Gauges for a specific system using lessons learned from applying the algorithm to large data sets.
- Assist customer quality engineers when evaluating customer returns by recreating issues on the bench, setting up the device in the FA lab for probe and debug, or developing a test improvement plan.
