About the Role
Works with Site Manager to ensure meaningful community related opportunities for volunteers, appropriate documentation, and transportation to and from program sites and community activities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety of program volunteers at the program site and during community activities.
- Train program volunteers to perform job tasks effectively and interact appropriately with peers and the community.
- Oversee site functioning in the absence of the Site Manager, including supervising DSPs.
- Collaborate with the Site Manager on scheduling program activities and volunteer opportunities.
- Assist the Site Manager in maintaining accurate written records.
- Liaise between voluntary job site staff and program volunteers.
- Report volunteer successes, satisfaction, problems, or concerns to the Site Manager.
- Ensure protection of volunteers from neglect/abuse during program hours and report incidents promptly.
- Promote and reinforce agency philosophies and guiding principles.
- Complete and maintain all mandated trainings/certifications.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the supervisor.
- Complete Personal Outcome Measures training prior to evaluations and assessments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- A valid NYS Driver's license and must remain a Qualified driver.
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (1 year preferred).
