About the Role
The Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach is responsible for leading and mentoring student-athletes, creating a competitive yet supportive team environment, and promoting the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. The coach will drive skill development, strategic execution, and holistic athlete growth while effectively managing all aspects of the program.
Responsibilities
- Establish a positive culture among players, coaching staff, and the athletic department.
- Design, implement, and supervise progressive, sport-specific training programs.
- Organize and facilitate team building opportunities.
- Recruit, interview, and supervise coaching staff.
- Adjust practice protocols and team operations in response to health and safety regulations.
- Create JV and Varsity rosters.
- Plan, direct, and supervise all practices.
- Attend all games and scrimmages with strategic game plans, in-game adjustments, and player lineups.
- Build and finalize the official season game schedule.
- Attend and represent the program at all mandatory league and conference meetings.
- Ride the team bus for travel or coordinate appropriate coverage.
- Communicate with athletes, parents, and the team parent representative regarding schedules, team news, game results, and program highlights.
- Report game results promptly to the Athletic Department.
- Input game schedule and results onto Maxpreps.
- Manage, inventory, and maintain all team equipment.
- Coordinate the collection and return of uniforms at the conclusion of the season.
- Actively participate in all scheduled coaching and department meetings.
- Apply for post season play for NCS and State tournaments.
- Share out weekly schedule with team and team parents.
Requirements
- Proven playing and/or coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Comprehensive and current knowledge of soccer strategy, rules, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to improve team dynamics and inspire confidence.
- Must be organized, positive, patient, and highly effective in mentoring and working with teenagers.
- Satisfactory completion of a Live Scan fingerprint background check.
- Completion of mandatory Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training.
