About the Role
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking individuals to join their team in Rochester, NY, focusing on the manufacturing of essential lab plastics. This role involves inspection, assembly, and packing of products, contributing to breakthroughs in science and medicine.
Responsibilities
- Become familiar with product lines and identify rejected parts based on visual defects.
- Visually inspect bottles and make quality decisions.
- Recognize and report out-of-spec production to supervisors.
- Perform 15-minute inspections of high-volume production.
- Set up work areas as controlled environments with required attire.
- Perform housekeeping to maintain a clean production environment.
- Maintain necessary production paperwork.
- Work to established QC samples.
- Alert Supervisors/Team Leads or Set-up personnel to emerging problems.
- Adhere to all company and departmental work and safety rules.
- Operate any machine or operation in the assigned department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field preferred.
- 0-1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to perform simple math such as add, subtract whole numbers.
- Must have excellent hand/eye coordination skills.
- Ability to lift and load pallets with weights up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to work in a high speed, repetitive production environment.
- Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
