About the Role
Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Fiber Optic Technician. This role involves performing high-quality design, engineering, construction, splicing, and testing of fiber optic networks across the western United States. Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality design, engineering, construction, splicing, and testing of fiber optic networks.
- Travel from home to assigned project sites.
- Adapt to changing deployment requirements.
- Work outdoors in all types of weather.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in the fiber optic field is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company’s minimum safety standard.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications.
- In-depth understanding of technology-based services, products and networking.
- Desirable work experience includes field engineering and project lead responsibility.
- Able to meet physical requirements: climb ladders, work in confined spaces and/or various heights, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl and stand for long periods of time.
- Self-starter with positive attitude and willingness to work.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings and additional hours as needed.
- Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment screen, to include a drug test and an acceptable driving record.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
