About the Role
As Founders Associate, you will work closely with the founders on critical business challenges, ensuring operational efficiency. This role involves tackling ambiguous, low-structure problems and delivering tangible outcomes, ranging from project delivery and financing to establishing new functions and resolving supplier issues. This is an early- to mid-career generalist position located in Austin or San Francisco, with travel to our West Texas site.
Responsibilities
- Drive delivery of GW-scale projects alongside construction, procurement, and development teams, ensuring schedules are met.
- Own special projects end-to-end, from initial concept to final delivery, including establishing and managing new functions.
- Enhance the productivity of engineering and technical leadership by removing obstacles, managing logistics, and coordinating tests.
- Support complex equity and project financing transactions by managing assigned workstreams.
- Assist in hiring team members from junior to executive levels and contribute to shaping company culture.
- Independently manage operational tasks to allow the team to focus on core projects.
- Troubleshoot daily operational issues, including sourcing replacement suppliers and resolving on-site contractor problems.
Requirements
- 1-5 years of professional experience in demanding environments like startups, consulting, banking, engineering, or the military.
- Proven ability to operate with high agency and succeed in ambiguous, unstructured situations.
- Demonstrated success in owning and completing complex projects from start to finish.
- Excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and a proactive approach.
- Clear and direct communication skills with diverse stakeholders including engineers, executives, suppliers, and external parties.
