About the Role
As an Engineering Technician 4 at MKS Instruments, you will partner with Systems and Design Engineering to test and troubleshoot the next generation of RF Plasma generators. You will report to one of the Systems Engineering Managers.
Responsibilities
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot new RF generator designs
- Test and troubleshoot new PCBAs to validate performance
- Conduct failure analysis on returned units, determine what is failed and make observations or measurements to identify root cause
- Build test setups for specialized experiments
- Occasional customer support opportunities may occur
Requirements
- Requires an Associate degree or equivalent technician experience
- Minimum of 4+ years of related experience
- Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electrical / RF instruments
- Experience using schematics to troubleshoot PCBA problems
- Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 35 pounds
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time
- Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level
- Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
Skills
- Use of computers to drive tests or collect data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Use of LTSpice or other circuit simulation tools
- PCBA soldering / rework
Experience Level
- 4+ years of related experience
Education Level
- Associate degree or equivalent technician experience
Salary/Compensations
- $30.48 - 50.80/hr
