About the Role
As an established leader in the Municipal Sector, you will support and implement a robust strategy for growth, identifying relevant trends and opportunities for Colliers' growth. You will operate in a matrix structure to develop, direct, and lead the execution of the sector strategy to achieve growth targets, bolster brand identity, and author thought leadership.
Responsibilities
- Building a strong presence across Canada in municipal capital project delivery and advisory services.
- Keeping abreast of trends and challenges relevant to the sector and Colliers Project Leaders.
- Identifying opportunities, key accounts, and clients nationally and developing a plan to grow the sales pipeline in collaboration with business leaders.
- Supporting Business Units on priority pursuits with capture strategy, sector-specific input, guidance on relevant trends, challenges, and commercial strategy.
- Developing and owning the sector strategy in support of the corporate strategy, including multi-year road maps.
- Leading and directing the development of the sector sales plan to achieve sector sales targets.
- Identifying required expertise and capacity to win and deliver projects in the sector nationally in collaboration with other business leaders.
- Serving as the people leader for the Municipal sector team.
- Demonstrating collaborative behavior with colleagues, other business leaders, and external partners with a strong orientation towards business growth.
- Clarifying and anticipating sector trends and articulating their impact on clients, developing approaches to address them.
- Establishing a strong brand presence for Colliers Project Leaders in the sector through thought leadership, video spotlights, speaking at events and conferences nationally, and engaging with existing sector accounts.
- Identifying regional and national participants for sector-related conferences and events.
- Acquiring membership and actively participating in sector organizations, pursuing leadership positions where appropriate, to grow the business, increase sector and market identity, and recruit talent.
Requirements
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a leader (consultant or owner side) in municipal capital delivery and/or municipal services.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in leading sales strategy and/or business growth.
- Clear understanding of a professional services business model, including resource management strategies, risk management strategies, and commercial strategies.
- Professional industry credentials relevant and specific to the sector are a strong asset.
- Known industry player and leader across the sector nationally and well-connected with key organizations and clients (target and existing) in the sector.
- An established network of sector contacts nationally and involvement with applicable sector industry and trade associations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills for all levels of clients and the organization.
- Effective leadership and organizational skills with the ability to successfully lead teams and company-wide initiatives.
- Willingness to travel as required across Canada.
- Currently authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
