About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, tech-savvy Part-Time Japanese Language Instructor to lead online courses tailored for middle and high school students. This role involves shaping engaging learning experiences that build linguistic skills and cultural connection.
Responsibilities
- Teach online teen courses following the established curriculum syllabus.
- Create compelling supplemental teaching materials tailored to the dynamic pacing of a teenage classroom.
- Align with fellow instructors and maintain regular, timely communication with the Education & Family Department staff regarding schedules and course updates.
- Participate in instructor meetings before and after each semester to discuss program enhancements and share insights.
- Design and introduce new theme- or content-based courses aligned with student interests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; an MA in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience teaching the Japanese language in a structured classroom setting.
- Proficient in video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams) and digital presentation tools.
- Experience using digital tools for writing instruction (e.g., iPad/ tablet and stylus, real-time annotation) is required.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- Deep familiarity with modern language teaching methodologies.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, green card holder, or possess a valid U.S. work permit.
