About the Role
Accendra Health aims to simplify healthcare by delivering care beyond traditional settings and making essential products and services more accessible. As a Patient Service Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering personalized, long-term care for patients.
Responsibilities
- Delivers and picks up equipment from homecare patients.
- Sets up equipment and instructs patients on basic use.
- Assists patients with equipment-related problems.
- Schedules and organizes daily deliveries and pickups by geographic territory.
- Loads and unloads durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies onto delivery vehicles.
- Complies with all applicable regulatory requirements, including driver qualification file documentation, hours of service, daily logs, hazardous materials regulations, and vehicle inspection/maintenance.
- Completes and distributes necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Notifies supervisor of any discovered issues in the patient's home, such as physical abuse, unsafe home environment, or unsanitary conditions due to animals.
- Maintains daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports, ensuring vehicles are in proper working condition and preventive maintenance is performed on time.
- Responds to emergency delivery calls and on-call duties as needed.
- May clean and assist with equipment repair.
- Performs routine vehicle maintenance, including checking fluids, tire pressure, and brakes, and reports malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
- At least one year of related work experience is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
- Minimum of three years of driving history required.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
- Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
- Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A. and Joint Commissions regulations.
