About the Role

GFT is seeking Water Engineers of various experience levels to join our teams in Texas. This role involves contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure, including dams, levees, water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and conveyance systems. The position focuses on integrating technology, sustainability, and compliance to protect public health and enhance quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineers and project managers.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Lead pursuits and oversee technical work and staff (for Senior Manager level).
  • Support condition assessment evaluations for water and stormwater assets.
  • Meet established budget and delivery schedules.
  • Work directly with municipal clients to identify needs and provide solutions.
  • Draft task order proposals.
  • Coordinate project execution with other disciplines and management.
  • Develop small to large design projects from planning to construction.
  • Prepare construction packages, including plans, specifications, and OPCC.
  • Support growth of client relationships.
  • Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations and perform technical analyses.
  • Participate in local office activities to encourage collaboration and client development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-20 years of related experience.
  • EIT required.
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
  • Project experience including design of water treatment plant upgrades, water distribution systems, pump stations, and stormwater assets.
  • Hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Experience managing preparation of and reviewing and approving engineering plans, specifications, project schedules, and construction cost estimates.
  • Experience using Bluebeam is desired.
  • Participation in VA AWWA, VWEA, or other regional or national professional associations.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
