About the Role
CSC Generation is building closed-loop decision systems that use machine learning to operate consumer businesses more intelligently, starting with pricing and expanding into other areas. The role involves building systems that estimate causal response, quantify uncertainty, choose actions, generate information, observe outcomes, update policies, evaluate challengers, and deploy within guardrails.
Responsibilities
- Estimate causal response and quantify uncertainty
- Choose actions based on data and uncertainty
- Generate useful information from system operations
- Observe outcomes of system interventions
- Update policies based on observed outcomes
- Evaluate challenger policies
- Deploy systems within defined guardrails
Requirements
- Exceptional technical ability and judgment
- Experience in machine learning and statistical modeling
- Experience in causal inference and experimentation
- Experience in recommendation, advertising, pricing, marketplace, credit, or other decision systems
- Experience in bandits, reinforcement learning, optimization, or active learning
- Experience in uncertainty estimation
- Experience in counterfactual evaluation
- Experience in production ML systems
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and large behavioral datasets
