About the Role
As part of HDR's Transportation Business Group, you'll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities, and quality of life by modernizing aging infrastructure or pioneering next-generation transportation solutions. This role offers a chance to lead progress, drive meaningful impact, and leave a legacy of smarter, more connected transportation networks.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Manage all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity.
- Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
- Establish and maintain client relations, and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
- Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
- Coordinate staffing and workload throughout the project life cycle to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to meet budget and schedule parameters.
- Work with Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
- Implement QA/QC procedures.
- Supervise large project staffs and mentor less-experienced Project Managers.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- A license/certification in a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years related experience.
- A minimum of 5 years project management experience.
- Experience working on MTO, Halton Region, York Region, Peel Region, Durham Region or City of Toronto projects preferred.
- Experience developing and delivering public and stakeholder engagement materials.
- Knowledge and application of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process, Transit and Rail Project Assessment Process (TRPAP), TAC Manual, MTO Geometrics Design Manual.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project and Powerpoint).
- Progressive and innovative approach to problem solving an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 7 years related experience.
- A minimum 2 years project management experience.
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license).
- MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be a plus).
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
