About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager, you will join a growing team, working closely with all levels of the business to deliver cost estimating and management services to clients, architects, and developers. This client-facing role will initially focus on CRE/TI fit-out projects, requiring direct engagement with clients, architects, consultants, and construction managers to build strong relationships. You will undertake complex work assignments, manage project teams, and support the leadership team in delivering outcomes for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, undertake, and/or deliver cost planning advice at the conception stage using historical data and project parameters.
  • Provide cost estimates and peer reviews at all stages from SD to CD.
  • Participate in value-engineering discussions and workshops.
  • Manage risk, including regular reviews and updates of the risk register.
  • Conduct cost advice exercises and optional appraisals to enable informed decision-making.
  • Provide tailored procurement advice and strategies to meet client needs.
  • Manage the bid process, including RFP preparation, bid leveling, and commentary on contractual documentation.
  • Review, negotiate, and agree on GMP and lump sum contracts with CMs and GCs.
  • Perform monthly financial cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
  • Manage change orders, including entitlement review, measurement, and negotiation.
  • Process payment requisitions and soft cost invoices, liaising with the client's accounting team.
  • Attend and chair meetings as required.
  • Oversee final account and financial close-out in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Assist with RFQ responses, RFP bid preparation, and attend project interviews.
  • Collect and provide project benchmarking data.
  • Understand industry trends and developments to provide accurate cost and industry advice.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to deliver accurate cost advice.
  • Demonstrate time management skills to plan, manage, and deliver tasks in a timely manner.
  • Represent WT professionally and liaise with internal and external clients and stakeholders to develop positive working relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for new business development.
  • Support, mentor, and supervise other team members.
  • Support other offices, projects, and/or service streams as needed.
  • Assist in fostering a continuous learning environment through training, thought leadership, and mentoring.
  • Encourage staff suggestions and feedback on current practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensure the implementation of WT Partnership policies.
  • Initiate and lead the development of WT Partnership policies and practices.

Requirements

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant degree.
  • A minimum of 6 years’ technical experience delivering medium and large projects, including CRE / TI Fit out projects.
  • Pre and post contract experience.
  • US citizenship and/or existing/transferable right to work in US.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required by existing clients.
