About the Role
SkyWater is seeking a technical expert to provide guidance to technicians and engineers, focusing on maintaining and improving critical facility systems. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our cleanroom and manufacturing environment, contributing to the production of U.S.-made semiconductors for various high-tech markets.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and engineers.
- Serve as a technical expert for cooling systems, including chillers, glycol chillers, cooling towers, process cooling water, and water treatment.
- Act as a technical expert for HVAC systems, including FTUs, make-up air handler units, air flow patterns, cleanroom filters, and DX units.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of requirements for maintaining a cleanroom, including characterization, instrumentation, filters, and general materials.
- Provide technical expertise for hot water systems (boilers), compressed air systems, and process vacuum.
- Serve as a technical expert for scrubbing systems and general exhaust.
- Maintain equipment in respective systems and coordinate with contractors.
- Review and ensure preventative maintenance is completed to specification and on schedule.
- Implement or modify preventative maintenance plans as needed.
- Actively support department meetings, capital planning, and expense budgeting.
- Monitor SPC in accordance with facilities specifications.
- Lead process changes through the process control board as needed.
- Perform root cause analysis on incidents.
- Manage complex capital and expense projects from concept to commissioning.
- Work within defined technical processes and procedures.
- Initiate and drive continuous improvements to achieve impact.
- Adapt and move quickly to accomplish goals.
- Uphold area upkeep and 5S principles.
- Adhere to environmental health and safety policies.
- Complete job hazard assessments with contractors and internal teams.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally and escalate issues as required.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- Maintain and create standard operating procedures.
- Train operations on SOPs and LOTO.
- Perform detailed record keeping and reporting.
Requirements
- 4 Year Technical degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline.
- 5-8 years of work experience.
- Ability to at times work in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing setting that includes bending or crouching.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
