About the Role

The Rooms Operation Manager supports the successful execution of all operations in the Rooms Division with a focus on Front Office. This role strives to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Rooms Operations Team by organizing, directing, and monitoring daily activities of guest services.
  • Liaises with the housekeeping department and other hotel departments.
  • Strives to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the division.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of daily house count, expected arrivals/departures, scheduled in-house group activities, all room rates, special packages, and promotions, communicating this information to appropriate staff.
  • Maintains a shared knowledge base of local San Francisco destinations and activities.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains programs and processes to enhance guest satisfaction and ensure efficient and profitable front office operations.
  • Ensures guest needs are fulfilled and their stay is pleasurable, assisting with dining, entertainment, or transportation reservations as needed.
  • Assists front office staff with the resolution of guest problems/complaints.
  • Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of hotel services, facilities, policies, and area attractions.
  • Prepares accurate and timely reports as required.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops front office staff, managing schedules and workflow.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work, ensuring staff conforms to organizational policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates, actively promoting and recognizing performance.
  • Routes and/or responds to text-based inquiries from guests as a key point of contact and as part of an off-property escalation plan.
  • Keeps up to date on overall team activities, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Two years of Hospitality Management Experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising and overseeing staff in a fast-paced service industry setting.
  • Lifestyle/luxury hotel experience required, opening experience a plus.
  • Superior knowledge of San Francisco food, entertainment, and event options.
  • Power user of guest survey, reviews, and reservation tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; extremely personable and welcoming.
