About the Role
The Traveling PA or NP will work closely with Physicians and the Utilization Review Director to produce high-quality medical opinions to customers. They will travel with and assist the Physician with the exam clinics and in completing a quality exam report.
Responsibilities
- Travel with Exam Providers to various exam locations throughout Texas, approximately 15-25% of work week clinic schedule depending.
- Ensures consistently delivers timely, high-quality, and objective medical opinions to our customers.
- Utilize claimant medical records, physician notes, and case summaries to formulate objective medical opinions in response to customer inquiries.
- Create reports that are complete, thorough, error-free, and ready for physician review and approval.
- Maintain openness to physician feedback and promptly address any requests for edits or alterations.
- Communicate with all relevant parties to resolve unusual or concerning situations.
- Monitor and research changes in state-required procedures and standards for the jurisdiction in which the report will be submitted (with support from the Medical Director).
- Provide correctly applied citations from appropriate guidelines or medical literature to substantiate determinations.
- Maintain professionalism, attend required training, and adhere to all company policies.
- Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively and providing expert-level customer service
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Solid understanding of medical terminology
- Familiarity with Texas Workers’ Compensation processes
- Experience with orthopedic medicine
