About the Role

As a Medical Equipment Installer, you will support critical hospital operations through the installation of hospital equipment, including sterilizers, lights, and booms. You will ensure customer satisfaction and safety from installation through post-installation, contributing to continuous patient care. This role involves significant travel, including potential overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Installation Project Manager to schedule product installation, coordinating with equipment delivery, customer availability, and construction schedules.
  • Verify rough-in dimensions and utilities are adequate for equipment specifications prior to installation.
  • Ensure doorways, elevators, and hallways are sufficient for equipment transport.
  • Perform installation of STERIS products, including uncrating, assembling, setting, leveling, connecting utilities, and testing units.
  • Complete service documentation electronically.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through post-installation activities, including disposal of packing materials, cleaning equipment, and addressing customer questions or issues before leaving the site.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of recent mechanical experience in a construction or HVAC installation/repair field, OR an Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or a similar field plus 1-2+ years of related mechanical experience.
  • Plumbing and electrical experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in computers and Windows software.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside normal business hours.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to comply with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.
