About the Role

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and organizing projects up to $10 million from origination to completion, working closely with the Operations Manager to prepare action plans and collaborate with teams to deliver results on deadlines and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, coach, and create a cohesive, high-performance culture with employees and external talent.
  • Perform administrative management of the department, including budget administration and proforma assistance.
  • Set targets and standards for productivity, safety, cost, regulatory compliance, inventory control, and purchasing.
  • Develop and manage projects with comprehensive plans, risk analysis, documentation, reporting, and performance standards.
  • Oversee and manage construction sites, contractors, and employees to ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records pertaining to materials, equipment, fleet, safety, maintenance, contractors, and employees.
  • Manage bidding, resourcing, and completion of non-traditional revenue projects to attain desired profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to align on resourcing for CCO projects/installations.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments (Real Estate, Finance, Operations) to set priorities, manage projects, and analyze risks.
  • Prepare and submit Railroad Development packages and provide reports on transit projects.
  • Represent the company at inquiries and inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BSc in Construction Management or related field or military experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction/project management with emphasis on New York construction.
  • Experience successfully managing internal and external teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, engineering drawings, and step-by-step action plans.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including experience building and nurturing a team.
  • Able to partner successfully with internal and external groups.
  • Able to negotiate contracts with vendors that support CCOA and client goals.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk for a minimum of 8 hours a day and complete tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.
  • Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs and work at heights of 100 feet or more.
  • Ability to perform site visits in a construction environment requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • 10% travel required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.

Salary/Compensations

  • Min: $160,000.00
  • Max: $180,000.00
