About the Role
This attorney will bring practical, hands-on auto insurance litigation expertise into the company's work with clients and product teams. The role is particularly well suited for a litigator who understands how auto insurance cases are handled day to day and is interested in applying that knowledge in a technology-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject-matter resource on U.S. auto insurance litigation, bringing practical knowledge of claims, litigation strategy, case workflows, and defense practices.
- Work directly with insurance clients and their legal teams to understand litigation processes, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve the management of high-volume matters.
- Help translate real-world auto insurance litigation practices into scalable workflows, templates, and legal content for the company's technology platform.
- Analyze case patterns, litigation strategies, outcomes, and other trends to help inform product development and client solutions.
- Partner closely with the company's legal, product, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure the platform reflects how insurance litigation works in practice.
- Help deepen the company's understanding of the U.S. insurance litigation market as it expands its relationships with major insurance carriers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of litigation experience, with meaningful hands-on experience defending auto insurance matters.
- Experience representing multiple insurance carriers and/or handling matters across multiple jurisdictions is strongly preferred.
- Experience with major auto insurers such as Allstate, State Farm, Progressive, GEICO, or similar carriers is particularly relevant.
- Broader insurance defense experience may also be considered, with a strong preference for substantial auto-related work.
- Experience managing cases through the litigation lifecycle, including case assessment, discovery, motion practice, settlement strategy, and other substantive aspects of insurance defense.
- Strong litigation, writing, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to translate litigation experience into practical business and product insights.
- A strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- A J.D. and active U.S. bar membership.
