About the Role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Engineer to provide expert technical guidance and innovative solutions to a diverse client base. This role involves delivering comprehensive fire engineering services throughout all project phases, ensuring adherence to current standards and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain industry relationships and information on fire engineering projects and opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise for proposals and tenders.
  • Manage fire engineering projects across various sectors, including team, progress, and budget.
  • Liaise with clients, design teams, and approval bodies.
  • Attend meetings, update project status, and adjust delivery models and schedules.
  • Review technical project information to prepare fire strategies and provide ongoing support.
  • Undertake fire engineering analysis (e.g., radiation, smoke modelling, structural) and third-party reviews.
  • Provide design and construction support, including site visits.
  • Develop, analyze, review, and issue reports.

Requirements

  • Degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Demonstrable fire engineering experience.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status.
  • Experience with site visits/inspections for existing buildings and during construction.
  • Experience of structural fire engineering is beneficial.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in standard IT applications (Word, Excel).
  • Strives to improve performance and uses innovative methods.
