About the Role
Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Engineer to provide expert technical guidance and innovative solutions to a diverse client base. This role involves delivering comprehensive fire engineering services throughout all project phases, ensuring adherence to current standards and codes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain industry relationships and information on fire engineering projects and opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise for proposals and tenders.
- Manage fire engineering projects across various sectors, including team, progress, and budget.
- Liaise with clients, design teams, and approval bodies.
- Attend meetings, update project status, and adjust delivery models and schedules.
- Review technical project information to prepare fire strategies and provide ongoing support.
- Undertake fire engineering analysis (e.g., radiation, smoke modelling, structural) and third-party reviews.
- Provide design and construction support, including site visits.
- Develop, analyze, review, and issue reports.
Requirements
- Degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Demonstrable fire engineering experience.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status.
- Experience with site visits/inspections for existing buildings and during construction.
- Experience of structural fire engineering is beneficial.
- Effective communication skills.
- Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Proficiency in standard IT applications (Word, Excel).
- Strives to improve performance and uses innovative methods.
