About the Role
The Foreign Exchange unit is part of the Treasury Operations group and is responsible for processing settlements, confirmations, payments, and reconciliations of foreign exchange products. This group also provides administrative support to currency traders. The Credit Support Annex ("CSA") Margin Control Department works collaboratively to complete daily margin call negotiations and is responsible for USD collateral management for global OTC derivatives portfolios. This position supports operations within both departments.
Responsibilities
- Confirms and processes corporate trades; prepares payments.
- Verifies payments in Montran and SAA; rectifies errors.
- Confirms NDF, Currency Options, Arbitrage trades, and Collateral Payments.
- Monitors control procedures in CLS, non CLS and Misys matching systems.
- Investigates and resolves failed, unmatched and mismatched trades.
- Updates credit line renewal: reconciles broker fees to ensure fees are accurate and within approved credit lines.
- Submits database reports for management review.
- Generates reports in compliance with Dodd-Frank EUC requirements.
- Processes daily Variation and Initial Margin calls, and support related reporting to Head Office Tokyo.
- Calculates the funding requirements and assists in the money transfers for Head Office Tokyo and other Branches' nostro accounts.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of specialized experience in Financial Services
- Experience working in a back office operations team in a bank of financial institution.
Skills
- Knowledge of departmental PPM and Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Trading Activities
- Knowledge of foreign exchange dealing, confirmation and settlement process
- Knowledge of payments structure through SWIFT, CHIPS, Fedwire and an understanding of CLS confirmation and settlement.
- Operational knowledge of the applications that support back-office operations (i.e., FOX, CFO/CLS, MONTRAN, Comfort, etc.).
- Ability to manage and meet intra-day and end-of-day deadlines and complete work accurately.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- High level customer service mindset with a commitment to supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to interact with staff cross-departmentally to correct problems on a timely basis.
