About the Role

The Office of Staff Attorneys (OSA) is seeking a Supervisory Immigration Attorney to provide leadership, manage immigration casework, and supervise immigration attorneys. This role requires strong ethics, judgment, and adaptability to a complex and evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, assign, and track OSA’s immigration case work
  • Develop and lead efforts to improve immigration case processing
  • Supervise immigration staff attorneys
  • Maintain substantive knowledge of legal issues
  • Participate in hiring, training, and office administration
  • Collaborate and liaise with office leadership and other court units

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 8 years post-JD legal work experience, including significant immigration experience, with significant supervisory experience
  • Federal court experience
  • Proof of license and authorization to practice as an attorney in any U.S. State, territory, or the District of Columbia
  • Active member of the bar in good standing
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident in the process of applying for citizenship
  • Successful applicants are provisionally hired pending results of a background investigation and fingerprinting
  • Employees are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees
  • Direct deposit of pay is required
