About the Role

HELP USA is seeking an Intake Supervisor to manage shelter sites during evening, night, and weekend shifts, serving as the primary contact for new clients and guiding them through the intake process.

Responsibilities

  • Enter client data into DHS' CARES database.
  • Participate in bed counts and report census counts to IVC.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily intakes, bed assignments, and client service tasks.
  • Supervise subordinate staff.
  • Collaborate with external entities for language access.
  • Ensure optimal customer service for clients.
  • Handle community relations and liaise with authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with NYS DHS, NYS OTDA, NYC FDNY, NYC Dept. of Health, NYC Coalition for the Homeless regulations.
  • Assume direct service/program responsibilities if staffing is insufficient.
  • Collaborate with DHS PD to ensure facility security and safety.

Requirements

  • Obtain FDNY F-80 certification within 3 months.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in residential facility settings.
  • Capability to obtain and uphold First Aid/CPR certification.

Skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Salary/Compensations
