Responsibilities
- Ensure the ongoing delivery of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Train new teachers on the Vivvi Learning Model, a child-centered, inquiry-based approach.
- Coach faculty members and model instructional best practices.
- Provide mentorship to faculty members, including regular performance evaluations and professional development.
- Ensure children's and faculty members' files are complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
- Support relationship-building and enrollment with prospective families.
- Foster and promote Vivvi’s inclusive environment throughout all aspects of the school.
Requirements
- Enjoy working with young learners and see every child as infinitely capable.
- Have 5-10 years of experience in a similar role with at least 2 years of Head Teacher experience.
- Hold or be working toward NYS Initial or Permanent Teaching Certification birth to 2.
- Have deep expertise in emergent- or inquiry-based curricula and a progressive approach to early childhood education.
- Be knowledgeable of licensing requirements for early childhood programs.
- Value and create strong relationships with families, children, and faculty.
- Possess excellent leadership skills, including the ability to define goals and motivate staff.
- Be CPR and First Aid certified or willing to be certified.
- Be fully vaccinated against COVID.
- Be based in or willing to relocate to NY.
- Possess independent US work authorization.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, bend at the waist, reach overhead, and frequently move or lift children weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
