About the Role
The Bank Teller is responsible for providing excellent customer service, conducting financial transactions accurately, and promoting bank products and services. This role will be included in the merger with TowneBank and will become a TowneBank position upon conversion in late 2026.
Responsibilities
- Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner, understanding their needs, and providing appropriate solutions.
- Assist customers with account inquiries, deposits, withdrawals, and other general banking transactions.
- Maintains a higher level of customer satisfaction by promptly resolving any issues or concerns.
- Accurately counts, receives, and disburses cash, checks, and other financial instruments.
- Ensures the cash drawer balances at the beginning and end of each shift, following the bank's cash handling policies and procedures.
- Performs various banking transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, money orders, and traveler's checks.
- Ensures all transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Recognizes and using cross-sales opportunities to generate qualified referrals.
- Follows regulatory requirements, including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- 1 year of teller experience or 1-2 years of experience and/or customer service experience, including cash handling.
- Must have a valid driver’s license for the state in which they reside.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of banking procedures.
- Knowledge of Jack Henry or other similar platforms is beneficial.
- General knowledge of basic mathematical calculations and techniques.
- Overall knowledge of typical bank-related products and services is a plus.
Experience Level
- 1 year of teller experience
- 1-2 years of customer service experience
Education Level
- High school graduate or equivalent
