About the Role
The Fiscal Intermediary Associate assists individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families by facilitating self-directed services. This role is responsible for implementing services as outlined in approved budgets and assisting with payments for approved goods and services, requiring strong customer service skills to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Work with individuals and brokers to initiate and complete the self-direction process.
- Explain fiscal procedures and required waiver documentation to individuals and their families, including staff hiring and training.
- Provide individuals with copies of all written policies and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between the individual, their family, broker, and OPWDD.
- Monitor individual budget utilization and perform monthly financial statement oversight.
- Provide quality assurance and administrative support to individuals and their families.
- Perform OPWDD and compliance reviews of Life Plans.
- Attend Life Plan meetings semi-annually representing the Fiscal Intermediary, assessing service satisfaction and financial budget oversight.
- Assist with record keeping, gathering required documentation for Community Hab/FI services, and providing follow-up.
- Provide administrative support including data entry and information input into the CHOICES system.
- Complete all assignments in a timely manner.
- Prepare statistical data.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
- Ensure understanding of changes in the field.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Requirements
- Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.
Experience Level
- 1 to 3 years of experience in related field.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree required
Salary/Compensations
- $17.14 - $20.00 an hour
