About the Role
Benesch is seeking a Corporate Legal Assistant to support attorneys in an energetic, fast-paced environment within one of the nation's fastest-growing law firms. This role is hybrid with work-from-home flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, redline, and proofread corporate documents including contracts, agreements, transactional matters, compliance, closing documents, UCCs, financing and lending, and audit letters.
- Assist with the assembly of pre-closing documents and sets of executed documents for signatures.
- Prepare shareholder and corporate minutes and maintain corporate record books.
- Manage filing procedures, requirements, and e-filing with the Secretary of State office, federal, state, and local courts.
- Create and maintain client and administrative files in the document management system.
- Utilize the workflow management system to manage assignments, maintain an organized workload, and assist others during PTO or peak periods.
- Schedule appointments, manage attorney calendars, and coordinate meeting details.
- Enter and release attorney's billable time and review proformas for billings.
- Perform initial conflict checks, open/close client matters, and prepare engagement letters.
- Monitor case deadlines and coordinate with the Docket Department to ensure deadlines are met.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and track travel expenses.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external clients, upholding the Firm's 'First in Service' philosophy.
- Proactively participate as a member of the practice group support coverage team.
- Stay current in the use of all firm systems and practices.
- Perform additional office support duties as assigned/requested.
- Maintain confidentiality of all documents and information.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Three years of corporate experience required.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and PDF software.
- Excellent customer service attitude required.
