About the Role
NTT DATA Services is looking for a Private Cloud Transition Sr. Manager to join their team in Austin, TX. This role involves planning, leading, and managing the successful delivery of private cloud transition and transformation activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable in ambiguous environments, manages multiple vendors and disciplines, and communicates effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver end-to-end private cloud transition and transformation execution plans for strategic, complex ITO engagements.
- Align customer requirements with NTT DATA delivery frameworks.
- Serve as a trusted advisor.
- Participate in presales and customer visits to represent Transition and Transformation function.
- Ensure framework is adopted.
- Build and lead high-performing Project/Program management teams, including virtual teams and third-party contract resources.
- Own P&L for T&T and ensure delivery within budget and on schedule.
- Assist in the development of transition plans, strategies, and budgets.
- Analyze and evaluate program plans to identify improvements in transition strategies.
- Coordinate program efforts among government program managers and contracted technical task performers.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders to identify and capture key elements for a seamless transition.
- Analyze and evaluate programs, proposals, plans, and program metrics to identify improvements.
- Gather and document discovery information from customers through presentations, workshops, interviews, and conference calls.
- Analyze discovery information and develop gap analyses and Pareto charts to identify risks, issues, and assumptions.
- Monitor and control work to ensure the project remains on track.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Manage scope and scope creep.
- Forecast and measure performance progress and challenges.
- Act as a proactive leader who partners with the client to translate business requirements into action plans.
- Provide governance to projects/programs through smooth handover to the operations team.
- Drive innovation, governance discipline, and best practices to make private cloud transition and transformation a best-in-class function.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, private cloud, data center, or enterprise technology services.
- At least 5+ years of proven success in project, program, transition, or transformation management leading large, diverse teams.
- 5+ years of experience with private cloud transition, data center transition, consolidation, relocation, migration, or transformation programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience interviewing end users to gather requirements.
- Knowledge of the SDLC.
- Experience building reports.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- Expert-level proficiency in Systems Development/Integration Fundamentals.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.
- Significant previous experience working in highly regulated State or Federal government organizations.
- Experience structuring, running, and managing complex infrastructure and private cloud transition projects, including data centers, virtualization platforms, compute, storage, network, service desk, and operational readiness workstreams.
- Experience managing multi-tower, multi-geo complex projects and programs involving private cloud, hybrid infrastructure, application dependencies, migration planning, and service transition.
- Strong project/program management knowledge.
- Ability to convey information across various stakeholders and articulate how business issues may impact overall IT services.
- Proven ability to consult, support, and inspire colleagues.
- Experience working with vendors, OEMs, and internal procurement teams.
- Experience working with CIOs and executive technology leadership.
- Experience leading large, diverse teams and creating a solution-oriented environment.
- Responsible for end-to-end employee management, including hiring, onboarding, leading, developing, and mentoring team members.
- Experience driving a trusted advisory culture.
- Well-versed in financial analytical work with a strong understanding of budget creation and management.
- Demonstrated ability in using MS Office Suite, MS Project, and Visio.
- Strong program/project management skills.
- Deep working knowledge of PMP/PRINCE2 methodologies.
- Strong infrastructure technology knowledge, including private cloud platforms, compute, storage, network, virtualization, security, monitoring, and IT service management practices.
- Consulting and working experience preparing client business cases and statements of work.
- Willingness to travel 20%–50%.
