About the Role

FT Partners is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our San Francisco office and contribute to the development of FT Base, our firm's digital backbone. This mission-critical application manages our data ecosystem, project lifecycles, AI Agents, and proprietary CRM, powering enterprise AI tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Immerse yourself in the context and business requirements of each of our system's many functional areas.
  • Execute on instructions to build new things, or improve, refactor, clean up or delete features.
  • Make recommendations on progressing projects, considering growth, simplification, and alignment with other system areas.
  • Review applications prototyped outside of the engineering department and provide guidance for improvement or security.
  • Develop stable features without accumulating technical debt.
  • Organize, consolidate, and strengthen the software suite for sustained impact.
  • Explain and verify AI-produced code on a line-by-line basis.
  • Overcome obstacles beyond the prototype and build cohesive, organized, scalable systems.

Requirements

  • 2 years as a Software Engineer in a web application environment OR 2 years as a Software Engineer and reputable boot camp certification OR Computer Science degree (4 year) and some projects or work experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, Typescript, APIs, Git, and web application system design concepts.
  • Strong AI prompt-driven development abilities with technical understanding.
  • Ability to explain and verify AI-produced code line-by-line.
  • Experience overcoming post-prototype obstacles and building cohesive, organized, scalable systems.
  • Responsible and organized approach to development.

  • Flexibility to adapt to business pressures and constraints.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
