About the Role
We are seeking a strategic Head of People to build and lead our People function, focusing on performance, talent development, and organizational effectiveness to support business growth and strengthen our culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the strategic people roadmap.
- Design scalable, role-specific onboarding programs.
- Design performance processes that foster accountability, continuous feedback, and professional growth.
- Create meaningful career development programs and personally coach employees and leaders.
- Build the firm’s coaching capability, equipping managers to develop their own people.
- Design structured, merit-based compensation frameworks.
- Shape a high-performing, values-driven culture and design the organization to sustain it.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize HR systems and People Operations processes.
- Champion an AI-forward approach and build automations.
- Partner with management to close productivity gaps.
- Strengthen communication and address organizational challenges.
Requirements
- At least five years of people leadership experience in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
- Proven ability to build scalable programs and lead through change.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and continuously refine people strategies.
- Comes to the table with ideas and launches initiatives proactively.
- Strong leadership, executive presence, and excellent judgment.
- Ability to influence department leaders.
- Communicates effectively in both written and verbal settings.
- Demonstrated success in coaching leaders, navigating difficult conversations, and fostering trust.
- Operates at a true senior-executive level - low-ego and easy to work with.
- Strong understanding of New York and federal employment practices.
- Deeply versed in current best practices, SHRM standards, and leading literature on teams, culture, and organizational health.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage, evaluate, and implement HRIS, employee engagement, and People Operations technology.
- Thinks like a project manager and a coach.
- Designs and implements systems that track performance.
- Coaches people and their managers to improve.
- Uses AI to make the team more efficient.
- Gives leadership a clear, honest picture of productivity.
