About the Role
Engineering Project Managers at Peak Design are central to the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, connecting the product team with the rest of the company. They ensure clear communication of information, decisions, and timelines across all functions, owning cross-functional coordination to keep launches on track and contributing to initiatives that improve product lifecycle management and team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Own the project development schedule end-to-end, tracking milestones, flagging delays, and adjusting plans.
- Participate in the product development process, providing logistical support.
- Maintain and communicate the NPI schedule across cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate sample logistics globally, managing shipping.
- Join evening vendor calls (1-2 per week) to confirm factory schedules and capacity.
- Act as the final check to prevent issues from being overlooked.
- Collaborate with industrial design, engineering, overseas manufacturing, and contract manufacturing partners.
- Align with the marketing team on sample requests and launch strategies.
- Ensure customer success and retail teams are prepared for new product launches.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on project management experience with cross-team coordination and milestone tracking across multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to work 3 days a week from the San Francisco office.
- Strong systems thinking and a drive to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Ability to navigate unexpected roadblocks through rational problem-solving.
- Familiarity with mass production of consumer products.
