About the Role
Supervise the day-to-day activities of payroll processing, guiding a dedicated team while implementing best practices and innovative solutions to streamline processes. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer timecards, payroll, and payroll reporting, and ensures payroll reports are downloaded, secured, and backed up on the company’s network.
- Prepare and process payroll for 500-800 employees semi-monthly moving to biweekly.
- Communicate with ADP/Dayforce to enable accurate, timely processing of payroll.
- Organize payroll mail, storage and documentation.
- Ensure payroll reports are downloaded and data is securely and confidentially maintained.
- Extract payroll data and report after each payroll is processed.
- Assist manager with systems to ensure accurate time accounting for all employees.
- Provide support by responding to requests for verification of employment.
- Administer RRSP/DPSP contributions.
- Process new hires and prepare all transfers and promotions.
- Process terminations and calculate final pay.
- Research employee payroll inquiries or answer questions.
- Assist with annual merits, increases, special, and retroactive calculations.
- Conduct special projects as required.
- Process Wage Garnishments and Child Support.
- Process quarterly audits-payroll.
- Handle special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Stay abreast of Payroll compliance issues and Payroll system upgrades via continuing professional development.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years’ experience with high-volume paperless Payroll.
- Experience with in-house payroll processing preferred.
- Experience with JDE and JDE One environments preferred.
- US Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Canada Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) preferred.
- Effective communications skills (oral and written), including presentations.
- Planning & organizational skills, results-oriented and the capability of driving multiple projects simultaneously to completion.

Education Level
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- CAD $100,000.00/Yr. - CAD $115,000.00/Yr.
