About the Role

KIPP NYC is seeking dedicated teachers who can inspire and educate students, fostering both academic and character development. This role involves making a college preparatory education relevant and impactful for students' futures.

Responsibilities

• Teaching a rigorous college preparatory curriculum aligned with school and New York State standards.
• Delivering high-quality and engaging instruction.
• Committing to continuous professional and personal growth through teamwork.
• Utilizing data to inform instructional decisions.
• Continuously assessing student progress and communicating results to families and colleagues.
• Providing individualized or small group instruction to students needing extra support.
• Exhibiting a 'whatever it takes' attitude to ensure student success.
• Modeling school values in all interactions with students, families, and staff.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills conducive to a collaborative environment.
• Possession of character traits such as zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
• At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
• New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• A passion for contributing to a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.
• A strong desire for professional development within the KIPP NYC team.
• Demonstrated success in improving student achievement levels for the communities KIPP NYC serves.
• Must notify HR of any relocation or plans to relocate outside of a commutable distance or out of New York State.
• Must not require visa sponsorship or work authorization.
